Mary hands out "Move your Money" leaflets at an OccupySB rally
Last week I was honored to be asked to do a teach-in on health by www.occupysb.org. Together we looked at the big picture of what we would need, in an ideal world, to be healthy and happy. We also looked at the obstacles to us reaching that goal, both as a society and as individuals.
Sweeping changes in government advice on antibiotics
My thanks to the Irish Society of Homeopaths for this recent summary of the dangers of antibiotics and recent warnings from government agencies about their use. The summary also reviews evidence in favor of using homeopathy for viral and infectious illnesses:
On Veteran’s Day it is a sobering thought that 20% of those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are likely to suffer from PTSD or major depression. According to the VA, in a 2005 report, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder was the fourth most common service-related disability.
PTSD is characterized by flashbacks or nightmares to the event(s) that caused the trauma, irritability, anxiety, hypervigilance and the tendency to startle easily. Often those with PTSD will withdraw from people, places and images that remind them of the original event. Hundreds of thousands of Veterans will also have experienced some form of brain injury. Homeopathy can help, both through first aid and deeper constitutional care.
As dusk is coming and the trick or treaters go out in force, time to take a quick look at some homeopathic remedies that can help if someone in your family gets carried away and eats too many sweets. All of these are in the Deluxe kit.
My thoughts and best wishes go out to Giuliana Rancic, the host of “E! News” and her husband Bill. Giuliana announced on Monday morning in a Today show interview that she has breast cancer. Giuliana and Bill’s reality show has chronicled their two recent IVF attempts. Sadly one failed completely and the other resulted in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. While she was preparing for her third IVF attempt, Giuliana’s doctor insisted she have a mammogram and she recalls him saying:
“I will not get you pregnant, if possibly there’s a small risk that you have cancer… because if you get pregnant, it can accelerate the cancer. All the hormones will accelerate the cancer.”
A while ago, I told you about how my last run in with head lice meant tears before bedtime, tears of pure frustration. Mine. But then I found the answer and shared it with the whole of Ireland. Keep reading and I’ll share it with you, too…
As I shared in Part 1, Homeopathy can help with Head Lice infestations and the side effects of toxic treatments. In Part 2 I’ll share a little more about these very successful creatures…
The low-down on lice The head louse is a beautifully adapted six-legged wingless breeding machine. Having found a new host, it uses its specially adapted legs and claws to grab hold of the hair strands. It will try to stay close to the scalp, often hiding in the thicker hair at the back of the scalp or behind the ears where it bites and feasts on blood. To survive, it will need to feed daily on human blood and live in human hair. Contrary to popular opinion, it will not give a hoot if the hair is clean or filthy provided there is a heart beating somewhere beneath it!
Homeopathy and Prevention - Safe head lice treatment
September is National Head Lice Awareness Month, nicely timed to coincide with the return to school, where head lice thrive!
Homeopathy is a great way to deal with head lice because it is non-toxic and side effect-free. Insecti-cide, herbi-cide, insecti-cide. Basically if it ends in “-cide” then something dies, often because it was poisoned! Here’s the low down on low cost, effective ways to say “Goodbye” to head lice forever.
One of the world’s most intelligent women, Marilyn vos Savant has openly applauded the Swedish Supreme Court’s recent decision to allow doctors to recommend Homeopathy.
Marilyn’s high IQ scores, both as a child and adult, meant she was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1986-89. She is now in the Guinness Hall of Fame. Named as one of fifty “Women of the New Millennium” by the White House, Marilyn shared her personal experience…
Homeopathy was mentioned favorably once again this month by Dr Oz. In response to a viewer’s tweeted question, he said: “I think you should evaluate it (Homeopathy) and so many of these alternative medicine therapies are experiential. You’ve got to try it. If it works for you, keep doing it and if doesn’t work don’t waste your money. But I know in our family, my wife uses homeopathic therapies for our kids and they seem to benefit from it. So since these are tiny doses of products that don’t seem to have any down side, I endorse it.”
