In fact they are great to get the word out about anything you feel strongly about, especially if you want to share information with others. Squidoo is a favorite site of mine. It is really easy to create a “lens” - your very own page that tells people how you see things. So far I have made two. The first gives breastfeeding advice: www.squidoo.com/nursingbaby

Fox reporters blow the whistle The internet really is a wonderful tool. Stories that would never see the light of day can “go viral” and reach millions of people in hours. That’s just what happened when Fox TV tried to squash a story about a massive threat to public health in the food supply. Two investigative reporters used the power of the World Wide Web to tell the tale of what happened when they tried to air a program about Bovine Growth Hormone and its effects on food products. This clip will make you wonder just how much you can rely on government agencies and the media to protect your health and wellbeing when big money waves the big stick. www.youtube.com/watch?v=trWcqxrQgcc The sun - friend and foe For years now, scientists have been warning us to stay out of the sun because of the dangers of skin cancer and have recommended the use of very high factor sun blocks, especially on children. More recently the message has been changing. There is growing concern that avoiding the sun completely is also dangerous, as it leads to severe Vitamin D deficiency which can in turn predispose you to develop cancer. Another concern is that many sun blocks are toxic and being absorbed through the skin. Moderation is the key. Make sure you get some gentle sun exposure every day avoiding the hottest part of the day. Choose a reliable brand of sunscreen such as Dr Hauschka.
